Challenge: I’m not sure if I should add a new employee or find a part-time contractor. What do you suggest?
Coach Response: The key is to outline what support you need based on what your goals are for this year in your business. Until you know where you’re headed, you can’t know what support is necessary. First look at what needs to be done and decide if you have the team right now to accomplish that. If you don’t, you move to the next step.
Getting clear on what you need from a contract or part-time resource is the same process as hiring for a full-time person. You need to be just as clear in your mind about what they will do and hire specifically for it. Create a job description so you can speak to people clearly about what you want.
