We pull real conversations with real women figuring out How to CEO everyday.
This week…
Question: How do I come to terms with no longer being the technical expert on my team?
Coach Response: I think it’s OK to be sad. Yes, there is some celebration of getting to this point. But then there is the acknowledgement that you are shedding that skin. That means that the CEO role that you are adopting is priority over a few of those things you enjoyed doing.
You have to hold space for yourself for both. Allow yourself to be bummed about it. It’s understandable that you want to geek out, but it’s also understandable that you want to be in the space of a CEO. It doesn’t mean that you can’t ever do this again as a fun passion project. I’m proud of you for understanding what’s important here, which is staying in the CEO role.
